Nvidia's Deepmap
Chips and Graphic-cards maker Nvidia has announced collaboration with a high definition mapping company named 'Deepmap'. The company said that the mapping IP(Internal Protocol address) will help the Nvidia autonomous vehicle technology to navigate. “The acquisition is an endorsement of DeepMap’s unique vision, technology and people,” said Ali Kani, vice president and general manager of Automotive at Nvidia, in a statement. “DeepMap is expected to extend our mapping products, help Nvidia scale worldwide map operations and expand their full self-driving expertise.” One of the biggest issue in achieving full autonomy in a passenger vehicle is to properly localizing and updating the maps according to the current situation of roads and surroundings.
